Gustafson Medical Loan

The late Hattie Gustafson provided the endowment, which made this scholarship possible.  Hattie and her husband farmed north of Rudyard all their adult lives.  The Gustafsons had no children but were very active and interested in their community.  Mr. Gustafson died some years before Hattie, of a long illness during which Hattie had considerable contact with the health care profession in the Hi-Line area.  As time went on, Hattie herself was in need of extended medical care, making her increasingly aware of the need for more medical people in this area.  When Mrs. Gustafson died in 1991, she left in her will a substantial endowment that has helped a significant number of people for Liberty & Hill County gain an education in the medical field.

Dr. Buker Medical Loan

The Dr. Buker medical fund was established in Dr. Buker’s honor of his commitment to medical care and faithful service to the Hi-Line communities and the Hi-Line Health Foundation.  It is the Foundation’s desire to make this medical fund a lasting tribute to his dedication to students in health care fields.

Loan Assistance Program

The loan assistance program was developed to assist in retention of healthcare professionals on the Hi-Line. Funds are designated only to educational loans pertaining to the individuals’ current position pertaining to the medical field. The professional must remain providing healthcare services to the local area to receive each payment.
